José Manuel Vidaurre was born in Segovia, Spain. In the eighties, while living in Venezuela, he left his pursuit of a degree in electronic engineering to become a completely self - taught commercial photographer and retoucher. In December 2001 he was awarded “Alien with Extraordinary Ability" status (E11) by the U.S. Department of Justice, and with it permanent residency in the USA.
Both in 2009 and 2011, he has been selected in Germany by Luerzer's Archive publisher, for the book
"200 BEST ADVERTISING PHOTOGRAPHERS WORLDWIDE". He has a long list of 68 award certificates and trophies from three continents including The London International Advertising Awards (three years), The New York Festivals, FIAP, IPA, The ADDY Awards, The Color Awards, Prix de la Photographie Paris, Creativity Annual, etc. José Manuel has also been selected by Kingston Technologies for the program "Icons of Photography".
